Meet Dr. Alison Caruso
Dr. Alison Caruso is a dedicated general dentist originally from a small town called Maine, in upstate New York. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from the University at Buffalo before continuing at the same institution to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Caruso further advanced her clinical expertise by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, where she refined her skills across a comprehensive range of dental procedures.
During her dental education, Dr. Caruso demonstrated a strong commitment to service through an externship with Indian Health Services and a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, providing essential dental care to underserved populations. She continues to give back through her volunteer work with Remote Area Medical, delivering free dental services to patients in rural communities with limited access to healthcare.
Dr. Caruso began her career in private practice in the greater Boston area before transitioning to Harvard University as a staff dentist, where she provided care to faculty, students, and staff. In addition to her clinical role, she dedicated time to teaching dental students in the clinic. Dr. Caruso also served as adjunct faculty at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Dental Hygiene School in Boston, mentoring and educating future dental professionals. Dr. Caruso recently relocated to Florida with her husband, a head and neck oncologic surgeon based in Jacksonville.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Dr. Caruso has completed numerous continuing education courses to remain at the forefront of modern dentistry. Her advanced training includes Nitrous Oxide Certification from Boston University and a Modern Restorative Dentistry program at Harvard University with an emphasis on digital dentistry.
Dr. Caruso has a special interest in operative and cosmetic dentistry, focusing on enhancing both oral health and patient confidence through comprehensive, personalized care. Her thoughtful approach ensures that each patient receives treatment tailored to their individual goals.
An active member of the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association, Dr. Caruso remains deeply committed to professional excellence and ongoing engagement within the dental community. She is also a member of a local Spear Education study club, reflecting her dedication to collaborative learning and clinical excellence.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Caruso enjoys traveling, running, playing tennis, hiking, and spending time with family, friends, and her Great Dane. She has a passion for exploring new destinations and immersing herself in different cultures, bringing the same curiosity and enthusiasm to her personal life that she does to patient care.
